I put these pickups in a Japanese Fretted Jazz Bass to liven up the sound. The stock pickups were really flat, so these added a lot of mid range definition without going active.
For the money, you can't go wrong if you want to give some new life to an old bass.
Love these pickups. Brought my bass to life. Don't let the price fool you, these are top of the line! If you want to fatten up your tone and give your jazz bass some punch these are the pickups for you.

Brings in some quality sound

I used this kit to upgrade a cheap J-bass, and they gave it a nice mellow tone with great clarity. Especially love the sound from the neck pickup, round and boomy. Combined neck and bridge produce a great "fits everywhere" tone that can fit in any kind of track. Bridge isn't too snappy, so I'm not sure if it would be fit for slap - which isn't to my taste either way. Includes booklet with clear wiring instructions, no problem during install.

Very clear and precise sounding pickups. I have them fitted to a 2016 Mexican Fender Jazz Bass. Versatility is great, I have used them for everything from soul and funk to grunge and metal. Would reccomend

Great Upgrade - Different Sound

These pickups will sound different because of their construction. Since they are dual-coil pickups wired in series by default, they have a sound somewhat similar to a Precision Bass split-coil pickup. They’re great if you want a fuller, bigger low-end and more pronounced mids from a thin-sounding Jazz Bass.

I like using these pickups for very low tunings, where vintage-style Jazz Bass pickups can lack low-end. If you miss that snappy high-end, I definitely recommend using 500K pots instead of 250K. You can also wire these pickups in parallel if you want to experiment with different tones.
