Terribly rough strings, coating has zero durability

I fitted these at the weekend, and with less than an hour of play time the coating is missing in several places on the unwound strings, leaving fluorescent green dust all over the guitar.

These strings sound okay, but playability sucks! They're rough and coarse-feeling, whether as a function of the coating or the places it's missing. Beyond use for photos only, these strings don't work on a playing instrument. Avoid.
