I don't play drums and know very little about foot pedals. Thomann provided this one at no cost when I bought an e-drum kit for my wife. That's gonna earn it 5-Stars all by itself. This foot pedal will definitely do the job. It's got a felt pad on one side of the hammer and I've turned it away from the drum's face. It connected very easily and intuitively to the drum kit. It's driven by a chain and I can see no weaknesses anywhere.
