DW PDP 700 Hi-Hat Stand

I purchased this as I am building a minimalist setup for a drumset to have at home in case I need an acousting drumset. For this, I wanted a machine pedal that I could rely on.

I compare this to a stand I got second hand from a pre-built set as a reference. The build quality of the metal parts is excellent. It feels sturdy and has some weight when taken out of the box. Mounting procedure is easy enough as it is pre-assembled.

The foot pedal is of great quality. Since it is mostly polished metal it does not have that great grip with flat shoes, as I have seen other foot pedals with rubber to avoid slipping.

The cymbal angle is setup via a small grub screw at the bottom made of plastic. I think this is more convenient than other methods (e.g. a key) that I have seen, but only time will tell if this will be stable over a longer period of time. By the look of it, it may not be easy to replace so it may not be the best for live situations where it can easily break.

Otherwise, the action and general stability of the build is quite solid, I did not expect it from the lower price point.

I will update after a few months of working with the stand to see if all works well in the longer run.
