You don't get any range to experiment with placement
Because the nylon out of which is made is soft and because they don't use very strong glue, after a moth or so, it will form an air bubble underneath where the suction cups make contact and won't hold anything in place.

It won't take your finish off with it when you'll replace it.

Stays in place even on cutaway acoustics

I use this with a cutaway acoustic guitar, and it holds firmly without any issues. It protects the surface well and allows the support to stay stable while playing. Simple but effective solution, does exactly what it should.
