Ernie Ball 2816

Extremely well made strings. Perhaps the best flatwound I've ever used. I use these on all of my fretless basses. They're warm, they sound clear, and they are bright, all at the same time. I will always continue to use these strings.

Tried these out. Soundwise they were really good, but the feel was to sticky for me. Don't know if it was that the winding seemed not as "close" as other flat wounds I've used, coating or other aspects, so I sold them after a couple of weeks. I bought a set of GHS brite flats instead, which was perfect for me. Strings are as subjective as it can be. For me - these wasn´t the right string, but they may be for you. Despite my disliking I have to rate them according to sound and quality, and can´t say that Ernie Ball doesn´t deliver.

Thought I'd try out flats for the first time and was expecting them to be duller and less toneful than my usual round wounds, but was really pleasantly surprised by them.
They're quite expensive, being over £50 for a 5 set, but feel much smoother under to fingers and easier to play without string squeak.
Just ordered another set for my other axe.
