Focusrite ISA 428 MKII

This is in my studio for a wide range of sources, vocals, guitar, bass etc. The top end is open, transparent and clear and the transformers give a nice little lo-mid warmth which works beautifully well with both male & female vocals. The send/return feature means you can insert a compressor or eq into the chain before the output stage and the alternative impedances give a useful amount of tonal variation. I prefer the highest impedance setting which gives a crisper top end. The continously adjustable HPF is handy and phase flipping is available per channel. Massive 80dB gain range means even insensitive mics have plenty of gain available.
A quality unit all round and unreservedly recommended.
Also have to say Thomann's service was excellent. Despatched Friday from Germany, arrived Monday in London. Delivery took no longer than if I had bought from a UK dealer!
