Friedman JEL-20 Head

Mon choix s est porté sur cette tête pour plusieurs raisons
1) le format tête qui apporte une souplesse supplémentaire en terme de configuration
2) c est l une des rares têtes qui possèdent deux caneaux avec un réglage de gain et de volume indépendamment
20w me paraissait comme le bon compromis en terme de volume
En terme de son ,ma grande satisfaction se porte sur le son clair qui est clairement exploitable et plein
Le son saturé est à la hauteur de la marque friedman
Le seul hic concerne la sortie direct sono avec une simulation HP
Je l ai testé et il y a peu de réglage possible et celui proposé n était pas à la hauteur de mes attentes
J adore sa finition avec sa couleur rouge
Le prix est élevé mais cela en vaux la peine

Excelente!!!!! Un ampli sensacional....el primer canal "plexi"tiene un techo limpio muy alto, con mucha pegada...y conforme vas subiendo la gain vas obteniendo un crunch muy al estilo AC/DC
El segundo canal suena muy como un JCM 800 y conforme vas subiendo la gain, suena como si ya estuviera boosteado con un buen pedal, o sea ganancia de sobra.... también es todo un mundo el potenciómetro SAT.... aquí me suena más a un JCM 900, es decir, con más ganancia y más comprimido......En general muy buen ampli, que vale lo que cuesta , y aquí es donde tengo que decir que si quieres sonar muy bien tienes que gastar dinero ya que las grandes marcas de siempre hace mucho tiempo ya que dejaron de tener la calidad sonora que tenian hace 50 años.... menos mal que nos queda el amigo Dave Friedman

An excellent amp that provides you wide range of tones from clean to crunch and even further to extreme high gain. The channels are distinctively different and provide versatility for rehearsal and gig playing. I love especially the high gain tones of the channel 2. You can easily get to metal territory, for example Metallica tones. Different switches provide some adjustment options and included footswitch allows you to change channels. Bedroom volume levels are achievable with the master volume, however I use a secondary master volume in my effects loop to attenuate it.

If I had to complain about something, I would move the presence switch from the back to the front panel. Additionally, standby mode would be nice for on-off switching in the case of a tube amp. And finally, even though it provides amazing tones from EL84 power tubes, I have to admit that I slightly prefer the lower gain vintage plexi tones that I get out of my Marshall SV20h over the JEL-20's channel 1 (plexi channel). Maybe its the EL34 tubes in the Marshall, but SV20h sounds a bit fuller, brighter and harmonically rich. Still, I give JEL-20 a 5 for the tone.
