Best available alternative for a decent price! I bought it as a replacement for a Floyd Rose Special ( not so sure what's so special about it....) which was installed on my Fender Player HSS Floyd Rose.
Much more stable and pivots smoothly. Excellent Trem!
One little thing to keep in mind: The screws to lock the strings are a few mils longer than the Floyd Rose's. This might be a problem for the cavity in the guitar. I solved this to use the original FR's screws which fit perfectly!

Got this tremolo for a replacement for my 2002 Ibanez RG. The unit itself is solid and clearly well made (like all from Gotoh!) The only issues I found is that the bridge did not fit into the cavity on my RG and therefore needing routing. Also, the posts that come with the bridge on are large (or bigger than the original post on my RG). However, once the bridge was installed post the routing and set up....... THIS BRIDGE IS SERIOUSLY GOOD! Holds tune even after actively trying to detune while smashing the whammy bar over and over again as a test! A nice addition is that the tremolo arm screws in, so can be loose, easily movable or stationary. I highly recommend this tremolo for anyone looking for an upgrade, and a great price too!
