Well, it does its job quite well. Sound levels are so low, I can play acoustic drums in my home studio, and my upstair neighbours hardly notice me doing my everyday practice.

Pros : Easy to mount: good rebound; noise level is quite low.

Cons : It is not built for hard hitters. I play pretty moderately, and in few months of occasional playing I managed to tear a hole in the rubber part behind the front fabric.

Overall I would definitely recommend it for soft players. Hard hitters be aware!

Incredibly good, but breaks very quickly

I bough this because I wanted to make my practice as quiet as possible. For the first week or two this worked absolutely perfectly. Felt amazing to play, good rebound, greatly reduced the noise of the drum, 10/10. But it wasn't long before one of the metal arms broke. The other metal arm broke a week or so later. The glue on the pad started to wear away, so the pad was falling apart too.

I will admit, I do play quite a lot of double pedal, and I don't exactly play soft either. But the durability on this product is definitely a problem for me. Such a shame, because everything else about it is perfect.

The SOBass damper does just what it advertises. Set up was easy and it fitted well on my smaller 20" bass drum. It cut the volume down enough to be able to play at home. Clearly won't be silent playing but best solution I have found yet.

I am so glad that these dampeners exist. I can play without disturbing my neighbours now. They do their job and well! The drums are really quiet. I am very happy and highly recommend these dampeners! These bass drum dampeners also provide beater rebound!

I bought this damper for my sons 18inch bass drum ,his kit is in his bedroom so I needed to reduce the sound as much as possible ,the sound of the beater hitting the drum is reduced significantly in rooms below his room and very low by about 80% in adjoining rooms ,it's very easy to fit and fits up to a 22 inch bass,would definitely recommend .
