K&M Capstan Head Black

I have a cheaper K&M mic stand that had a smaller plastic nut that was hard to tighten properly. This is a perfect replacement for it! Very easy to rotate! May be good for other stands too that have a 8mm bolt.

I've got about 15 Mic stands in the studio, and some of them had a smaller capstan head for the mechanism that tightens the boom arm, so I replaced the smaller ones with these. because I can keep the microphone leads rolled up on the mike stand and hang them over this type of Capstan. So I don't have to Keep the leads anywhere else, they are all on the mic stands ready to go, and that saves me a lot of time.

Do you own a K&M microphone stand that has the small plastic capstan?
Do you almost break your hand everytime you tighten up the main joint?

This is the best boom clamp for K&M mic stands. The plastic wingnuts on their full-size boom stands don't get enough leverage. If you need to extend the boom for drum or keyboard vocals the weight of the mic will be too much for the torque you can get with the small plastic wingnut. But look how cheap this is from Thomann and your stands will be much better. Suddenly my K&M stands are much better for a tiny cost, and I bought enough for future stands I may need. Do it!

Making capstan heads for K&M stands was probably the best idea they had. Occasionaly I get some cheaper stands where butterfly style nut is used for locking the position and I find hard to turn them to lock tight. So what I do is I replace these with capstan heads and voila, instantly better!

I got a k&m stand with a plastic handle I wanted to replace with this one. Best for stands used in situations where there's no vibration on the stage - some drum risers shake and vibrate a lot.

As many of you out there I have K & M Stands that have lost the little end on the Capstan head, well this is the direct replacement for that and K&M have learnt and made the little balls on the end captive so they don't come off it seams.

If you buy this you know why, i did the same and it is a shame that this is not included with every stand from the same company.

I bought this to replace the silly clamp screw on my Ultimate Support keyboard stand mic attachment which was impossible to tighten adequately and made mics droop during shows. After some slight modifications this did the trick perfectly and now mics stay where they are supposed to.

I replace the shortest buterfly type with this one because you have more couple with this one and the cable stays closer to the mic stand ,you can grab it better with this one. I reccomend !
