Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive Factory

Best pedal I own - responsive, versatile, reliable. Ranges from just a bit of dirt up to thick and chunky overdrive. Favourite feature is how it changes with attack - hit the strings harder and the effect is amplified. Would vote 6/5 if I could.

The simplicity of this pedal is one of its most attractive features. The Focus control is pretty subtle but it is a cynch to dial in a 'just starting to break up' overdrive. There is a very slight mid boost and a corresponding bass cut when it is engaged, much as with a Tube Screamer but without the honk.

well if you like old kind of rock with low gain overdrive - thats the thing you need. its quite expensive but really worth every cent. also its got the battery inside but there is no any clue about that stuff in manual. so i really recommend this one but only if you have spare extra money

I've been using a germanium overdrive for years, but wanted to try something more subtle and of modern design.
I am a big fan of the Mad Professor and already have a Forest Green Compressor (only used for sustain - and what sustain!) the second effect on the board after this Sweet Honey Overdrive. Later in the chain is a Tiny Orange Phaser.
This is such an easy pedal to control. There is no setting that that sounds bad (Also no wild oscillation) and is just perfect for blues.
If this is the kind of sound you're looking for, this is the quality version to go for.

My title is enough...worth every penny!

This is a very good pedal, but it's VERY expensive for what it does. Also I find it adds a top end to everything I don't like, and if you roll off the Focus knob to remove it, things can get muddy.

Bult superbly, but very expensive for what it is, to the extent I no longer use it - I have plenty of OD pedals I prefer.

superb dynamics and tone - very amp like low gain OD - pairs very nicely with my Teles/Les Pauls and Deluxe Reverb/Victory V40

Great OD pedal, quiet in operation, useable throughout the range on the knobs. Vey well made. Best thing is how touch responsive it is, really nice to use picking dynamics to alter the amount of OD.
Recommended.
