Savarez 510MRJP Creation Cantiga Prem

First of all, this is a great set of strings, but maybe not for me. It has a really modern, powerful sound. The basses are chef's kiss, the premium cantigas are awesome. Bright, powerful, deep bass, very fast too. The bass strings are the stars here for sure. The trebles are nice too, but a little bit one dimensional. Keep in mind that I compare this mostly to the Aquila alabastro set, which has plenty of colour, very interesting sound, very easy to play, easy vibratos and slurs, but little low on the projection and don't really like digging in hard. Now the Savarez trebles can take some beating, but a bit too fundamental heavy for me. The projection is great, volume, headroom is great, little stiff to my liking, legato/slurs could be easier. I appreciate the alliance G string which helps a lot that G string tubbyness. I like the trebles much better than the pro arte stuff, more refined for sure, and also more articulate. Due to the mixed tension it's really useable though, great dynamics, you can play delicately for sure. If you're really very heavy handed go for higher tension trebles since the sound still will collapse if you start to abuse them.

Again, the premium basses are absolutely fantastic, if the trebles would have some more interesting tonal palette to it that would be super nice. It's still good though, but every time I pick it up my ears are just searching for the tonal palette that the nylgut strings offer I guess. Otherwise a very safe bet for someone who appreciates projection, headroom, dynamics and punch more than anything.
