Probably not worth it

The instrument literally fell apart on day zero. It was a fun project to put it back together, make it more solid, and do some personalization (just for the fun of it) on the way, but it looks like - out of the box - it wouldn't stand a single song.
On the design - the top panel would loosen the screw, and the rings fall off. The inner piece of wood is too soft, and tightening the screw too much would make the inner bolt wear it off.
The bottom panel also feels loose. It would be great to see the panels have carved guides for the metal cylinder so it can all be more firm.

Broker in pieces on first use

After the first minutes of using it right out of the box, the top screw that kept the whole thing together came out of the main stick, tearing the threads on it's way out, so it's impossible to put it back together :'/

Wie schon mehrfach beschrieben, war der Griff auch bei der von mir bestellten Cabasa locker. Ein Festziehen war nicht mehr möglich, da die Gewindehülse im Griff das Holz bereits ausgefräst hatte, so dass sich der Griff einfach abziehen lies. Thomann hat den Kaufpreis freundlicherweise komplett erstattet. Ich habe das Loch im Griff mit Holzspachtel ausgefüllt, ein neues Loch gebohrt und die Hülse erneut eingeschraubt. Das funktioniert soweit ganz gut. Leider rutscht das Wellblech bei Nutzung ständig aus dem „Zentrum“, was ein kraftvolles Spielen kam möglich macht. Der Klang ist auf Aufnahmen m.M.n. jedoch gut zu gebrauchen.
