Interesting experimental device

When I heard about Soma Ether, it reminded me of transhumanists implanting magnets in their bodies - a device to grant a brand new sense for a human being. And I was not wrong.

Ether allows me to get a taste of the world that is hidden in plain sight - all the sounds are actually there, we just can't hear them normally. I can hear a clock on the other side of the wall, I can hear when a tram accelerates, I can hear wires in my walls. All the lamps, all the electric devices become things I can feel.

I feel a little bit deaf when I'm without Ether.

Compared to other Wide-Band Receivers i believe its the best price, the battery lasts for years from what it seems.
Also i want to say that "It can take a hit" i mean its sturdy enough to fall without breaking.
Coming back to the sounds it can make, they are very nice even raw straight to the headphones also something to be careful about is using somewhat good cables because some can bring interference.
Come close to phones, routers, lambs even touch the front pins on sheet metal, metal polls outside, trashcans whatever.
Also buy some cable and strip the ends and touch it lick it, anything that comes to mind.
I tried passing one pin through resistor,pots, and also try playing with it on modular stuff.
Ultra nice even for walks ! Forget about Spotify and your phone take your headphones and take a walk, i even slept once with it.

I purchased the SOMA Ether V2 to make field recordings in train stations and for my electronic music performances. I can easily capture the noises and interferences of the electromagnetic field of an "invisible environment" that surrounded me. It's extremely easy to use, small, and practical. The batteries last a long time (I've used over 30 hours, between field recordings and concerts, always with the same batteries). You can connect it directly to headphones and listen in real time, without the need for an interface. Points to note: amplification and volume levels of the SOMA Ether V2 can vary greatly. This requires careful listening. Amplification and volume can be easily adjusted, but sometimes some sensitivity is required to adjust them, and the possibilities are endless. Depending on the amplification and volume, one can capture truly different sounds from the same sound object. For my artistic practice, the SOMA Ether V2 works perfectly, allowing me to capture soundscapes as well as create granular processing and textures in live concerts.

Portable noise radio

Ether is surprisingly small and light, and does what is was designed to do.
It works well with headphones (A-T ATH-M60x), but when attached to a portable recorder (Tascam DR-22WL, phone) a constant hum is always present. Maybe changing the length of the connecting cable will help.
Also, the case is made of plastic, and to replace the batteries one must unscrew 4 screws - hopefully the batteries will last long, or the screw holes will not!
