- It has only 8 ADAT I/o instead of 16 that most of the sound cards (even the cheap ones) have.
- the matrix is not intuitive at all.

Ich habe mir das UAD Apollo X8 (Gen 2) gekauft und bin absolut begeistert! Die Klangqualität ist überragend – die Wandler liefern unglaublich detailreichen Sound, und die Unison-Preamps ermöglichen eine authentische Anpassung an klassische Studiogeräte. Dank der Hexa-Core-DSP-Power kann ich UAD-Plugins in Echtzeit ohne Latenz nutzen, was meinen Workflow deutlich erleichtert.

Das Interface ist hochwertig verarbeitet, leicht zu bedienen und passt perfekt in mein Studio. Es ist jeden Cent wert und eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die auf der Suche nach einem professionellen Audio-Interface sind!

Würde es wieder tun

Hatte vorher eine Apollo Twin und war total angenervt vom ständigen Umstöpseln. Eine Patchbay hat sich als unpraktisch und supernervig erwiesen. Dafür bin ich nicht der Typ. Bringt mich auch total aus dem Flow.

Seitdem ich die Apollo 8 habe, bin ich glücklich. Ich finde die vier Unison Vorverstärker auch praktisch. Eigentlich braucht man die nicht, aber mit ist cooler.
Manchmal packe ich da einen Gitarren- oder Bassverstärker rein, aber nur, wenn es passt. Für Mikrofonplugins ist es, glaube ich, sehr sinnvoll damit zu arbeiten, damit hab ich aber noch recht wenig Erfahrung. Sonst nutze ich die Plugins doch lieber in der DAW.
Die Kombination mit der Apollo Twin als Daisy Chain hat sich als sehr fehleranfällig herausgestellt, so dass ich von dieser Lösung langfristig absehe und nur noch die Apollo 8 betreibe. Lösungsversuche haben mich trotz eindeutig beschriebenen Lösungen tagelang im Kreis getrieben. Das hat bei mir einfach nicht funktioniert.

Unter Umständen kaufe ich mir aber noch eine zweite Apollo 8, weil ich alle Kanäle belegt habe. Aber dann das ältere Modell ohne die Vorverstärker. So viele braucht man davon nicht. Ich jedenfalls nicht.
Aber es ist schon geil, ein Stereomikrofon oder Plattenspieler oder Gitarre in Stereo durchzuschicken, einfach, weil man genug Kanäle hat.

Die Plugins von Universal Audio sind unglaublich gut. Das Teil läuft wie eine Eins.
