L
adequate enough for occasional use, but nothing more.
LutherD 21.04.2026
I bought my Zoom F6 mostly for drop rigs, and normally don't use it for bag work (I use other recorders for that, with pro bags). I still bought this bag since it was very cheap and I believe it is nice to have a bag for the F6 should the need ever arise to use it that way. I also thought that I could at least use it to protect the bag.

However, I find this bag is just barely adequate enough for the occasional bag work, and if you want to use this recorder in a bag, I would not recommend it.

The bag itself is decently enough made. If I work in a bag, the Zoom F6 is powered by a large NP-F battery. The PCF-6 bag accomodates the F6 + NP-F battery snuggly, but all the connectors are quite open to the elements. But it holds the Zoom F6 with tension alone, which doesn't feel very secure (if you attach cables, the recorder can't slip out, but XLR connections should not be used as this kind of fallback. The bag only provides minimal padding to 2 sides of the recorder, not enough to my taste for bag work.

The additional pouch will fit a wide range of wireless recievers and even smaller USB batteries you could use to power the recorder, but the design is a bit convoluted and again, doesn't feel that secure.

If I use the bag, I usually do so as a hip bag. The belt is suprisingly comfortable. though shoulder work is also possble (but the additional pouch then does not stay properly positioned).

So in the end, I'm happy I have it lying around should I ever need it, but I would not buy it again. I don't even use it for protection purposes anymore since the F6 is mostly kept in an EVA case during its drop rig adventures.

So as a backup, or for occasional use, it could do, but for more serious work, I would look at other bags. (I once used the K-Tek Stingray from a friend and that was a much nicer experience).

A good, affordable, useful protective shoulder bag for the F6.
If you're planning to take your F6 out on the road, I'd recommend buying this bag to keep it safe.
I can confirm that the PCF-6 will allow you to attach a L-series battery to the back of the F6, and the bag allows access to the inputs + outputs.

P
