Melhor que o HD650 em quase tudo!

Eu trabalho com mixagem e masterização tendo o HD650 como o meu porto seguro nos últimos anos e o ATH-R70xa me surpreendeu demais, pois a sonoridade fica no território flat do HD650. As diferenças sonoras são sutis e basta acostumar o cérebro para esse novo cenário.

No quesito conforto eu achei o ATH-R70xa melhor em quase tudo, e por isso eu dei 4 e não 5 estrelas nesse quesito. Para mim, faltou um pouco mais de profundidade para as orelhas e somente por causa disso eu vou continuar com o HD650 como referência principal. Mas eu acredito que muitas pessoas vão preferir o R70xa, já que o HD650 é mais pesado e aperta muito mais a cabeça.

good osund but questionable design

PROS
Balanced, Neutral Sound,comparable to the Sennheiser HD 650.
Incredibly Light, provide comfort during extended listening sessions.
Good Soundstage & Bass Response: The open-back design provides a spacious soundstage, and the bass response is good for open-back headphones.

CONS
The headband design lacks sufficient clamping force for my (smaller) head, leading to a loose fit.

Not sure if this is a pro or con but it seems they are slightly rounded somehow, compared to Senn HD 650 and also Senn HD 490 Pro, let’s say that gives more of a closed back sound, might be also because they do not seem to fit my head and are too loose.

Was thinking to give it 3 stars because I think this is a big design issue, since I’ve not had problems with any other headphones fitting on my head.
However, since they would probably be amazing if I had a larger head, I gave then 4 stars.

Its NUTS how good these are!

Ignore the others. It's these you need.
The frequency response is really good, lower mids are lovely (to my ears) and not too harsh on the top end. There is a drop off at the super high end but that's okay.
The band is REALLY thin and the protective band is held with small magnets and had to adjust for my supply large head but once I have the band adjusted, they feel...well almost not there cause they are SO Light!

Very happy mixing on these and will be using them for my next single and EP

Good sound but bad fit

While the headphones sound good, they do not fit well on my head or (I suspect) any other users head.

The cups are designed to be parallel to each other and do not have hinges to allow for rotation like most headphones have. The metal holding the cups allow for some flex to let them fit a bit better, but it does not flex far enough or quick enough.

As a result the cups only rest on your head in front of your ears without touching behind the ears. This is bad enough on its own, but with glasses the issue is even worse.
