Good practice gadget that should be used alongside the real instrument
Johannes Kohlenzug 17.03.2024
A good tool to practice while at home or traveling. The build is really good and it feels like a real saxophone. Note that this does not have inbuilt sounds and is solely a MIDI-Controller.
Using this won't replace practice with a real saxophone since it won't help with your embouchure, so it's recommended to consider this as extra potential practice time for your fingerings while you're outside of your practice room.
There was no manual when I received the device so I had to go to EMEOs official website to look up on how to use it.
You can connect the device via USB-C to USB-A cable or via Bluetooth MIDI to your computer or tablet and play your VST/Music app of choice. While the EMEO comes with a Respiro license you can use to play, I thought the sounds there were just plain bad so I bought the SWAM app for my tablet instead.
What's also slightly annoying is that a USB-C to USB-C cable wouldn't work while I trying to connect to my tablet, so it seems like it has to be USB-C to A.
Overall, I can recommend this if you want to practice a lot more alongside your usual practice days with a real sax, and deem 2000€ as reasonable price for it long term
