Great looks! Even greater sounds

So I’ve wanted this guitar but was on the fence for a while. Then I finally bought it and I’m really happy I did.

1) It sounds incredible! The unpotted pickups are quite microphonic, so just don’t tap them. I’ve tries a couple of gibsons, and these pickups are definitely one of my favourites.
2) You can’t go wrong with a flying V, especially not one this pretty! The Hendrix signature is a great if you want something thats a bit different from your average black V.
3) It plays really well, but requires a little setup. Nothing to major, just had to lower the bridge a bit, but after that no problem.

So all in all great guitar for the value, especially if you want that sixties flying V with pickups that plays everything from Metallica to Rex orange county.

Jimi Hendrix Flying V von Epiphone

Diese Gitarre, in dem wunderschönen Koffer mit samtblauem Innenbezug ist ein echter Eye-Catcher!

Die Bestückung mit Original Gibson Burstbucker Pickups, das coole Maestro Tremolo und natürlich die bunte Optik waren für mich der Hauptgrund, diese Gitarre zu kaufen. Ich besitze bereits eine Gibson Flying V und kann sie daher recht gut vergleichen.

Soundmäßig steht das Hendrix Modell dem Original in nichts nach. Die Epiphone hat den Vorteil des Tremolos, was allerdings nicht mit einem Floyd Rose zu vergleichen ist, aber leichtes Tremolieren ohne Verstimmung jederzeit zulässt.

Einen einzigen Nachteil hat sie für mich. Die Halsverbindung ist im Vergleich zur Gibson Gitarre deutlich klobiger. Dadurch lässt sich in den obersten Lagen nicht so leicht solieren. Das ist auch der einzige Grund, warum ich ihr nicht 5 Sterne, sondern nur 4 gebe. Dennoch ist sie für mich eine Augen- und Ohrenweide und ich spiele sie sehr gerne!

Ich erfreut eine JH "V" bestellen zu können, denn ich habe bereits die Fender Custom Shop Izabella. Leider ist die Epiphone V irgendwie wenig attraktiv, die Bemalung wirkt eher kindlich, die Bespielbarkeit ist sitzend schwierig, schöner Case, PUs kräftig, Verarbeitung ganz ok, ABER leider ein Teil des Griffbretts in 13.Bund etwas fehlend --> daher Rücksendung - vielen Dank an Thomann :-)
