28.07.2025 added opinions after playing it for longer than a year.:
The guitar is still the most comfortable thing to play, the neck is perfect, the bends are easy, and I just love playing it, so easy and makes you a better player in general.
Meanwhile I got an Ibanez Genesis RG550 with the super wizard neck, but the Jackson's is better, easier to play, but that may be just because may hands are smaller.
The pickups are still monsters for metal and hard rock, but too high output for cleans if you don t roll the volume.
The cons are as follows: I just wish it had locking tuners, the Ibanez stays perfectly in tine with the edge tremolo, but this one you have to stretch the strings and play for 3,4 days for them to settle.
Another con is the pickup selector, it have became very temperamental, not getting any sound when switching from bridge to neck and vice versa. I will spray some WD-40 and see if it geta better.
The gold colour hardware from the bridge and volume and tone knobs has faded almosf completely, and some screws from the tuners and tone knob have gone loose. Something that i remedied easy, and not a big deal, but comparing it to my ibanez gio which didn't Have any issues and has been abused since 2023 ( and was only 220 dollars/Euros) it is kind of a bunmer.
All in all it is my favorite guitar, and i forgot to mention that te sustain is incredibile!!!
Still i say, just buy it! It plays as a dream, and has sustain for data, reason why i forget all the downpoints.
Original review:
This machine has everything you need, strong tones, perfect playability, comfort playing standing up, a bit of fuss sitting down, but that's with all flying v type of guitars. Also, this is a guitar you want to look cool and play metal with, that is something you do standing up anyways.
It's just a joy to play, the hand glides like a dream on the neck, the frets are a little smaller than on my other guitar (cheap Ibanez GIO grg121dx), Wich is perfect for my a bit shorter fingers.
The Seymour Duncan pickups are high output great for hard rock and metal, and they bring new life in my amp .
One if the best features is that is a breeze to play it, bends are like butter. Bending is as easy as sliding if not easier.
The cons are that it should have been a 24 frets guitar, especially that the shape is not perfect for the 21 and 22 frets acces.
I'm not a fan of the pickup selector, seems kind of flimsy, it does not step up to rest of the guitar quality. I prefer the blade style switches a loooot more.
Also the -1 point at features comes from the guitar not having locking tuners at this price point, that's pretty annoying until the strings wear in.
All in all it's a beautiful guitar, it plays beautifully, it makes you a better player, and sounds absolutely monster.
If you consider it, just buy it, you'll love it.
