I bought this to carry a 5-string violin which has a wider lower bout, a longer peg box, a deeper body & higher bridge than a regular violin. The 5-string is protected well. I can fit all my bits & pieces in the zip bag at the peg box end and I find the versatile little velcro interior loop-straps useful as additional securing holders. My shoulder rest sits over the pegs & beside the neck. The bows feel secure in their holders. The case is lightweight & comfortable (including on my bike!).. I really like this case... it's design is a simple shell case with good but unfussy padding.

I also like the combination lock. I know the catches won't accidentally flip open when whizzing about on my bike with my fiddle on my back. Although it's a bit of a delicate job to set the combination (I recommend taking great care when doing this).

I found Thomann great to deal with & delivery from Germany to the UK was extraordinarily quick (2 days!) with excellent tracking.

Disappointing

I did a lot of research when looking to buy a new case and thought I was getting a great deal with this one. However, I'm not sure I'd buy this again. The case shows wear and tear very very quickly. Two of the exterior clasps also snapped on me. Not great when you're looking to protect an expensive instrument within.

Perfect compact case for flights.

nice light and good quality. Compact enough to get onto flights most of the time.
