Pedal arrived promptly. First impressions, unique looks, sturdy and a feel of quality of pedal, knobs & buttons, which you'd really expect for the price.

Having plugged in sounds really good straight away and even better once you start to shape your own preferences. But any sound is good from it in my opinion, however I've only ran it inline with pedals into my amp.

But its also a freestanding pre amp in its own right.

Haven't had it that long but its one of those pedals that I seem to have on constantly, on either channel or with boost. with having 2 channels with independent EQs makes it very versatile.

Haven't any negatives as yet, Best sounding gains/distortions I've tried till now.

Suits my style for options on the floor for different gains, A lot of people just roll the volume on the guitar, which is a the fantastic way, or volume pedals again great.

Best thing I can say is check out some audio reviews on web and have a listen.

For me its awesome for the sound and versatility!

Best amp modeller/overdrive full stop

If you are thinking about this....stop...just buy it.

I use this as my amp modeller for going direct to a PA. Only pedal before it is an MXR sugar drive and then out of the Gurus into an Eventide H9 and stereo to the PA.
Without doubt the most natural feeling amp modeller there is. Forget this is all Marshall based, you can dial in a clean sound on one channel and dirty on the other that works for all styles. The solo boost is powerful. Only criticism is the pedal buttons are close to the knobs so easily knocked. I use stompshields for that problem.
It really feels and responds like an amp...lots of air and headroom.
expensive...yes...but not compared with digital options out there. ...and it glows nicely.
so well built too...like a tank.

Worth it

Expensive for a pedal, but this is basically a full preamp. I have several Marshall in a box pedals, and this is better by far. Also beats a JVM at bedroom volumes.

Sehr gut für Marshall-Style Sounds.
Floor 1 kann in Richtung Vintage Marshall Plexi klingen - rauh, mittig.
Floor 2 ist eher für die Marshall High Gain Abteilung.

Der emulated DI Out hat mich nicht so ganz überzeugt.
Aber wenn man ein Torpedo Cab, Iconoclast o.Ä. hinter den normalen Output schaltet, bekommt man schon sehr gute Ergebnisse.
Vor einem Fender Style Röhrenamp funktioniert der DoubleChecker ebenfalls sehr gut.
Wobei Floor1 mir in den Höhen ein wenig zu "spröde" klingt.
Floor2 öffnet hier mehr nach oben.

Meinen ersten DoubleChecker musste ich übrigens wegen einer defekten Röhre zurückschicken.
Leider kann man die Röhre nicht so einfach selbst wechseln - soweit ich das sehe. Thomann hat mir aber ein anderes Gerät geschickt.
