La Bella 760FGS Deep Talkin Bass

1st of all they look very nice and beautiful either on maple or ebony fretboard. they sound perfect and offer everything someone is looking for from a set of flatwounds. they have a smooth and softer feeling on the fingers than the common steel flats. deffinitely the best flats i ve ever used. their price is high but deserve to try them for once. obviously not suitable for all kinds of music and playing style but that's up to you. the only disapponting thing i found was the poor packing. very well sealed but all 4 wraped in a single piece of paper and a nylon pack and not separately one by one. also each one has a small cube like a dice at the very end numbered from 1 to 4. they are just order indicators. dont mount them on your bass with the strings. i did it but they are completely useless. they offer nothing just throw them away. the gauge is 45-105 but the E string looks to me thiner more like 100.

anyway i d say highly recomended at least for one time.

I’ll admit, I mostly purchased these for aesthetic purposes since I’m trying to outfit my fretless jazz bass with a gold motif (although LaBellas, of course, come highly recommended). In that regard, they’re gorgeous and work incredibly well with the gold hardware. However, I’m also happy to say that they sound and play amazing as well. I was really surprised how well the mids come through, and they’re more lively than I expected. I’ve only played them for a few hours, but they feel great and are a huge step up from my old DA chrome flats. I think I’ve seen reviews about the color growing dull over time, but according to the package, you can fix that with some brass cleaner, so we’ll see how that turns out. But in the meantime, I’m very happy with the purchase.

I nearly always use flatwounds, and I'm always on the try out for new strings. I preffer flats over rounds and nickekl over steel (so you get an idea of my taste). Thomastiks are great (I love them). However, for my Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass, these are the best strings so far. Tension is great (not to stiff neither too floppy). And the sound is flawless, heavy on the low mids, as I like. As for durability I've had them for a long time, and still perfect (the zing from the first hour gone!!) . Very smooth on the touch as well, so absolutely no finger noise.
