I´ve had a bad experience before with buying a cheap e-drums, so I was a little bit relutant with this kit. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to buy it and, 4 months latter, I can tell you that I am abdolutely pleased!
Pros:
- Good materials, very resistent. It doesn't shake a bit
- An extra tom and 2 cymbals (besides the hit-hat)
- The mesh pads are sensitive and you can get different sounds, depending where and the intensity you hit
- The stopping function on the cymbals and the 2-3 zone sound
- You get a "real feel" when playing the hit hat, due to the open- close mechanism
- The mesh pads are really silent, so it's very good if you live in an appartment and don't hate your neighbours
- Have you noticed the price?! Definitely this one is a decision maker
Cons:
- The module sounds aren´t the best (well, this isn't really a con, because you can easily solve it with a programe, like ezdrummer)
- The hit-hat is not very sensitive and sometimes I can't get the open sound (not sure if I assembled it right, but I've tried a lot of things and it doesn't get better)
- I use a double bass pedal and feel like the second one isn't getting the sound captured as the main one
- After 4 months of playing, I can see the snare mesh is getting a little loose, but the sound and sensitivity is still there, so I guess it could be the normal wear of the material, but it's still a con
Notice that I'm being picky here, I can assure you that you won't find any other e-drums in the market with this features, for this range of price. So if, you're an absolute pro and need an e-drums for practising/playing live, maybe you should consider a better and more expensive brand. But if, like me, you just want to practise at home and record something and don't want to spend too much money, I think this kit you're looking for.
