I recently picked up the Rode VideoMic GO II Helix, and I’m honestly really impressed. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight and compact it is – it doesn’t add any bulk to my camera setup, but the audio upgrade is huge compared to the built-in mic. The sound is clean and clear, and it does a great job cutting out background noise while keeping voices natural and crisp. I also love that it works not just with my camera, but also with my phone and laptop, so it’s super versatile for different projects. Setup was basically plug-and-play, no fuss at all, which makes it perfect for quick shoots or travel. Overall, it feels like a solid, reliable mic that makes a noticeable difference in my videos.

Ich nutze es für Reportagen und Fieldrecording. Sogar Interviews sind gut möglich. Dabei muss es dem Talent allerdings genau vor den Mund gehalten werden, da die Superniere sonst klangliche Schwankungen erzeugt. Zwei Video Mic Go und ein kleiner Fieldrecorder ergeben ein mobiles Podcaststudio, das in eine Tupperbox passt und sogar auf Fahrradreisen dabei sein kann. Wiegt fast nichts. Der Klang ist auch dabei - abhängig vom Aufnahmeort - unauffällig gut.
