Neat little product.

I bought this item to use as a wireless remote control for a Tascam DR 40, without realising my unit didn't support wireless. (My fault) So have to use it with the provided lead. Works perfectly, although was a bit surprised that the sender unit had to be inserted into the wired receiver section to work. Wouldn't it have been easier to put the receiver on the outside of the wired section, so the unit could work wirelessly? Other than that the remote works perfectly and there is plenty of lead.

Very good once you get it working

I originally wrote a poor review as the unit would not work with my DR-40. There are no clear instructions with the unit itself other than to refer to the DR-40 user manual, and the multi-lingual manual supplied with the DR-40 has no information about use. However if you download the .pdf for your recorder from the Tascam website you get a much more detailed and comprehensive manual which does include the setup instructions, which are simplicity itself and took less than a minute to be up and working. There are separate settings for the footswitch and manual remote options and my DR-40 must have been set by default to the footswitch setting. Works well and is simple to use.

Es un mando minimalista, con muy pocas funciones. Consiste en un soporte que convierte las órdenes del mando por ondas a señales en el cable, que se ha de conectar al Tascam. Como retroceder al pasado.
El precio es muy alto para las mínimas prestaciones que ofrece. Aún así, es muy útil y no se puede prescindir (como bien saben ellos) si no quieres hacer constantes viajes al frontal.
Lo compré porque es la única alternativa. O sea, es lo que hay...

Fernbedienung damits nicht klapptert

Ich verwende die Fernbedienung an einem Tsacam DR70-D Field-Recorder. Leider hat der Recorder keinen Infrarot-Empfänger, so dass die Fernsteuerung eigentlich nur kabelgebunden verwendet werden kann. Das Kabel hat eine vernünftige Länge, so ist das kein Problem.

Witziges Detail ist, dass die Fernsteuerung ohne den Rahmen infrarot fähig ist. Der Rahmen selbst hat den entsprechenden Empfänger, der das Signal von der Fernsteuerung in ein elektrisches Signal für den Rekorder umsetzt. Also könnte auch der DR70-D über diesen Rahmen per Infrarotstrecke ferngesteuert werden. (Wer sich traut, modifiziert den Rahmen zum reinen Empfänger. Wie weit allerdings die Fernsteuerung dann entfernt sein kann hab ich auch noch nicht ausprobiert.)
