tc electronic Eyemaster Metal Distortion

This pedal was a really big and nice surprise! First, the rugged construction. All metal, big knobs, this one could be considered a throwing weapon by itself, but it's also is a swedish chainsaw death metal weapon. I compared it with a Behringer HM300 and the BOSS HM-2w. What I can tell you is that the TC Electronic Eyemaster is the better sounding of them all. The HM300 is a little harsh and fizzy on the highs and note definition and separation suffer a bit. The HM-2w has such high quality components that it ends up being a little too tamed (if that's even possible for an HM-2 pedal...). The Eyemaster has as much clarity and definition as the HM-2w but it also has more aggression. The distortion it produces seems to me more like the original HM-2. It just has that little extra something that makes it marginally better than the HM-2w, and if you considering the price too, it's unbeatable! With only volume and gain knobs, this pedal is designed to do only one thing: chainsaw tone! Overall, I consider this one to be my best chainsaw pedal to date. Just buy it!
