Great for the price
This looks and feels solid and sturdy, well made, both the block itself and the metal adapter for the stand. I am surprised it costs so little!
You can get slightly different tones by hitting it in different places or with different materials. Even with finger tips can be nice, even if soft sounding!
I use this and other percussion instruments to play live percussion in electronic (house/techno) tracks. I like the fact that I can pitch the recorded track up or down to get different flavors - works well and is more organic and dynamic than using static samples! At least for my taste :)

That southern thing...
I wanted to add a bit of a southern taste to my drumkit and got this. Great sound. The only down side in my opinion it the mouting brackets which isa little bit tricky but does the job.
