Thon Amp Case Kemper Profiling Amp

Very speedy delivery, just slightly frustrating that this arrived before the Kemper itself!

It is a flightcase and if I needed to then I would be happy enough with putting this in the hold of an aircraft as it is strong enough to cope with what would be thrown at it.

It was a bit disappointing that when I un-boxed it there were some scratches to the wood itself but this is out of the ordinary for any Thomann product I have ever bought before and when I had a think about it...its a case...its there to be scratched! It was just a surprise more than anything!

It is a perfect fit for the Kemper and I would consider it is light for the amount of protection it provides. There is even a little space in the foam at the bottom for a power lead, midi lead and a couple of guitar leads (at a push).

It would have been brilliant if it had lockable latches and at first I thought the handle was a bit flimpsy when I compared it to other flightcases but then when i thought about the weight the other cases contained it made sense that they should be very robust and that this handle just needed to be adequate for the load. Those would be my only gripes and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a made to measure solution for keeping 2000E of investment safe.

Stability & Handling:
This is built very well. It fits the Kemper perfectly and doesnt allow the Kemper to shake inside it when its on the move. Complete with butterfly catches, this build quality of this unit is very impressive and nowhere does it feel cheapened.


Quality:
With a Kemper inside, if you accidentally drop it, I wouldnt be worried as this case is built very well. At a gig once, I had my Kemper inside it and the case on top of a power amp that was on top of a 4x12 cab...so about 3 feet in the air. Bassist knocked it over and it fell flat on to the ground. Opened it up, and the Kemper was in perfect condition. Does what it sets out to do...protect the kemper! You can even leave the kemper on the base of the unit with the lid off if you wish during the gig.

Conclusion:
Not much to say about a protective case except that it protects the Kemper unit very well. I think that all Kemper units should be protected when out on the road and this is the case to beat for them. Soft cases and gig bags just dont offer the same level of protection as hard cases, and you'll be thankful you paid out for this unit on the day that an accident befalls your Kemper that is inside this unit!
Word of advice: Keep these away from bassists! ;)
