Xotic BB Preamp V1.5

Solid metal enclosure, the knobs have great feel to them and stay well in position after tweaking. I use this pedal mainly to boost the front end of either an EVH 5150III 50W 6l6 or an EVH 5150III 100S in their respective blue channels, and I have to say that this preamp pedal is very clean (I can't notice any sound colouration) an you can really push the amp harder than a Tube Screamer just with it's volume. The Bass and Treble knobs are very effective if you want to tweak the sound further. I mostly play metal with a Jackson RR with EMG pickups, but the gain of the pedal into the clean channel of the amp gives you a nice ACDC rock sound, very pleasant and full! I totally recommend this pedal if you're looking for a different type of boost for your amp (it can get really aggressive and tight sounding) other than the usual Tube Screamer type pedal. I also seriously recommend using a 18V power supply, it clearly brings the sound a level up and the increase in headroom is noticeable!
