I bought this for my wife as a backup cello bow
Anónimo 28.03.2017
I bought this cello bow for my wife as a backup cello bow one week ago! She started playing with it and at first she was complaining a bit about the sound, but later on she said that this bow was even better than the old one!

So we are extremely happy with this purchase and we might buy one extra just in case.

The bow was not very well packed! I came in an oversize box with lots of air cushions to fill up the huge space, but unfortunately the bow was still on one extreme of the box! (we can only guess that in the transportation the bow slipped to the side and fell on the bottom of the box so that no air cushion was between the bow and the box.

I use this for bass guitar...
Anónimo 31.03.2015
I'm not sure how this performs for cello as I'm using it on my fretless bass guitar which is fitted with flatwound strings (roundwound strings don't bow well and damage the bow much quicker)

I have not been using it for very long but so far I have been very impressed with it, it gives me exactly the sound I was looking for. There are plenty of videos now around the internet showing the sound of a bowed electric bass so I'd suggest having a look at them if you're not sure about the possibilities.

The quality of this bow is very good considering the price. I've seen ones at much higher prices and didn't really notice the difference. It looks good and feels nice to hold and play with, not awkward in any way (once you get used to the pull length). I wanted a full sized, long bow so that I could hold/play notes for longer as I've been using this in a slow drone style project so having a large bow definitely helps with this. I've not burst any of the hairs on it yet and, though I've not been using it long, I've played several long sessions with it and it's been fine.

Definitely a cheap and quick way to get cello/string style sounds without breaking the bank - I couldn't afford to buy an actual cello, nor do I really have the space for one or the time to learn it, so this provided me with the ability to get very similar sounds from my bass. Really helpful. Don't forget the roisin, though ! (probably people reading this will know what that is but I had no idea when I bought this that such a thing was required. I learned soon enough !)

Great bow for a beginner
Anónimo 19.03.2015
The Cello bow arrived very well packaged and protected.

The build quality is fine for a beginner such as myself, although I would look to upgrade the bow at a later date if I take up the instrument seriously

It creates a balanced and even sound when bowing and is comfortable to hold, even for longer practice sessions
