Like many other guitarists buying from Thomann, I own a surprisingly great Harley Benton Tube 15. I love it, but felt that the original Celestion Seventy 80 speaker was too dark sounding, to the point that I felt the amp only really matched well with bright single coil guitars. Being the amp a British-style circuit, replacing it with a Celestion greenback would have been the most obvious choice. I decided instead to try the Jensen C12N. Well, the result was absolutely amazing, and exactly what I was looking for!
This speaker makes all the harmonics in a clean or slightly saturated tone really shine. I knew that the speaker plays a large role in the tone of an amp, but now I realize how true that is. I get amazing Fender style cleans, super sweet bluesy edge of breakup tones, and wonderful classic dirty ones too. The versatility of this speaker makes me play a lot more with the guitar volume and tone, as I feel all the little tweaks a lot more. And it matches well with all of my guitars, from Telecaster to SG, letting their individual character shine through.
It's one of THE most iconic and versatile electric guitar speakers, and you can instantly feel it. An American classic, now made in EU (Italy), which for those of us living in Europe means this speaker has a very reasonable price, while giving immense quality.
