Good quality and do the job

I find that these grip better than the lock nuts supplied with some cheap microphone stands. They are aluminium rather than steel, so they will show a little damage to the knurling if gripped forcefully with pliers (when you need a setup that is definitely not going to twist out of position), but it is better that they do the job rather than just look pretty. Note that they are 3/8" standard rather than 5/8".

Good quality metal, no complaints.

Very good quality. Not the cheap, soft metal you find in cheaper parts. I've always been happy with products from K&M and this is no exception.

a practical counter nut

A very necessary counter nut for mounting accessories. It's always good to have some as a backup. Overall strong. Large diameter for convenient attachment. K&M products are reliable.

This is so useful in so many applications. I have a bunch of them at disposal and use them in all ends of the mic stand. I like the polished one more than the black one because it costs less.
