Excellent instrument for the price

This is a versatile workhorse of a bass, the preamp sounds amazing
Much like the M7 without the maple top
All electronics are high quality.
Would highly recommend anyone looking for something different in their arsenal of instruments.

Nach all den Lobeshymnen über die Marcus-Miller-Bässe ziemlich enttäuscht

Ich hatte zunächst den M2 ausprobiert, weil ich mich von einem Bonedo-Testbericht habe anstecken lassen. Aber der Aufpreis zum M5/M7 lohnt sich: Die massive Brücke vom M5 bedeutet ein spürbares Mehr an Sustain und deutlich weniger Nebengeräusche. Die Tonabnehmer sind ab M5 erheblich besser und die Elektronik liefert mit der Seriell-, Parallel-, Singelcoil-Umschaltung eine viel größere Soundvielfalt.
Enttäuscht bin ich von der Optik: Anders als auf den Bildern, wo man einen schönen homogenen einteiligen Sumpfeschekorpus sieht, ist mein Exemplar aus 3 Teilen ziemlich lieblos zusammengestückelt, ohne jede Rücksicht auf Farben, Maserung und Symmetrie. Das habe ich in der Mittelklasse bei Cort und Ibanez schon sehr viel besser gesehen.
Damit hätte ich mich aber arrangieren können. Leider lässt sich der Bass nicht schnarrfrei einstellen. In dieser Hinsicht (und auch in Bezug auf Holzauswahl und Optik) war der M2 deutlich besser.
