Palmer Cab 212 X Unloaded

Bought this one after long consideration as I decided to carve a unique sound for myself.
The cabinet is a pleasant surprise, it is light, the handles are comfortable, and comes wired. The left mono jack gives a mono, parallel wired sound. The grill cloth is easily removable revealing the speaker sockets. The manual and the website give ample instructions on how to set it up. I've tested it with two Celestion speakers and boy this little box sure can sing.
I can only recommend it if you're looking to put together a boutique cabinet with custom loudspeakers.

Installation was a dream using the front access. The grill came off easily and is well made. All the necessary components including screws were provided and instructions were concise and clear.

It's slightly smaller than my other cabs, but as a result more light weight and easy to move around.

My only complaint would be that there is a subtle sparkle to the grill fabric that gives it a synthetic feel. But that's just a visual quirk that should not detract from the great build quality.

It is made of pressboard so that does have a subtle tonal effect, but not nearly as much as I expected.

Would definitely recommend.

Ich benutze die Box nun als Primärbox seit ein paar Monaten und bin immer noch begeistert. Als Speaker habe ich einen Eminence The Governor und einen WGS Veteran 30.

Ich hatte einfach keine Lust mehr meine 4x12er Marshall 1960AV Box zu schleppen und der Klang von dieser hat mich auch nicht mehr überzeugt...irgendwann sind die Vintage 30er einfach nicht mehr spannend.

Die 2x12er hier kann es durch den "The Governor" auf jeden Fall mit der Marshall Box aufnehmen, da der Eminence Speaker einiges an Bass, Raum und Lautstärke liefert. Ich spiele das in Kombination mit einem Engl Thunder und spiele hauptsächlich Metal. Dafür ist die Kombination perfekt. Scoop Sounds kommen richtig fett und es sind aber auch genug Mitten da um sich durchzusetzen. Es ist jedoch leider so, dass der "The Governor" spürbar lauter ist als der Veteran 30. Hier wird vielleicht nochmal optimiert in Zukunft:)

An der Box gibt es nichts auszusetzen, bis auf die fehlende Möglichkeit zwischen serieller und paralleler Verkabelung zu switchen. Wenn man 2 8Ohm Speaker hat und einen 16 Ohm anschluss haben will, muss man etwas umbasteln. Verarbeitung und Klang sind jedoch sehr gut.
