Insperiert von zahlreichen You Tube Videos kam ich auf die Idee mir auch eine PRS (wenn auch nur SE) McCarty 594 zu bestellen. Ich hatte die Hoffnung, ein Instrument zu bekommen, dass so warm klingt, wie eine Hollowbody Gitarre. So wurde es ja oft in den Videos beschrieben.

Leider kann ich den Eindruck nicht bestätigen. Ich spiele eine Epiphone ES 339 inspired by Gibson und suchte eine zweite Gitarre mit ähnlichen Klangeigenschaften. Die PRS klingt weder ganz nach Paula noch nach ES. Es ist definitiv ein eigener Klang, der mit aber nicht zusagt. Ich habe ihr 14 Tage eine Chance gegeben, aber der Funke springt einfach nicht über.
Hinzu kommt, dass die Verarbeitung für eine Gitarre von 1050,-€ nicht meinen Erwartungen entspricht. Ein Poti steht viel höher als die anderen 3, die quasi am Korpus anliegen. Darüberhinaus scheint irgendetwas mit der Elektronik nicht zu stimmen, da es manchmal zu Lautstärkeschwangkungen während des Spielens gekommen ist.

Vielleicht habe ich nur ein "Montagsmodel" bekommen, aber für mich steht fest, dass es zu wenig Gitarre für zu viel Geld ist. Die erwähnte ES 339 von Epiphone macht da sehr viel mehr her und ist nur halb so teuer.
Die McCarty geht zurück ...
