Good for starters

If you need fresh heads and never tried those, go ahead!
If you're looking for a specific sound, maybe dig a little more.

I had those on a snare and wanted a tighter sound, but as they were old, I thought buying new ones would get me a tight sound again.
Now I think I should have bought thicker heads (probably Black Suedes on both sides, though those are really thick!)

The classic heads!

With one ply heads you will get more response if you hit soft, than what you'll get with double ply. I highly recommend you to get one ply if you know that you're going to play a lot of different styles of music. These will work for everything.

And yeah, sure, double ply has more durability but if you develop correct technique these will still last for years and IMO have a better sound. I'll never go back to double ply again. Also easier to tune.

Remo has kind of always been my go-to choice, but I know the other brands are great as well. But single ply is the way to go! These days i go clear toms and coated snare, but it has been real fun testing different heads throughout the years. 5/5

Classic snare sound

I'm using these heads on my Mapex mars 6.5 snare drum, and I'm very happy with it.
They sound great and are easy to tune, with a very defined attack and a decent amount of sustain, just the sound I was looking for.

Pros:
Classic snare sound
Easy to tune
Good quality
Bang for the buck

Cons:
The batter head doesn't last as long as some other brands
