Excellent 87-style microphone with a classy vintage character

Great microphone with a classy 87-style sound. The UT Vintage87 has a smooth and musical midrange, detailed highs without harshness, and a very usable low end. On vocals it sits in the mix easily and does not require heavy EQ. Usually a high-pass filter, light low-mid cleanup, compression and de-essing are enough.

The build quality feels solid and professional. I also like the practical features such as pad, low cut and voicing options. It works especially well for vocals, rap and voice-over, but also sounds good on acoustic sources.

For the price, this microphone offers a very serious sound. It has character, but it is not difficult to mix. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a vintage 87-inspired condenser.
