Simple and elegant retro shred machine

Just, wow. I am blown away. It's been 20 years since I owned a guitar with a Floyd Rose and after 2 failed attempts at recieving a guitar of decent quality craftsmanship from Jackson's made in China "Pro Plus" range from another retailer, I took the plunge with LTD, and I am not disappointed. The build quality and craftsmanship astonishing, and this guitar sounds as good as it looks. That Seymour Duncan distortion combined with EMG PA 2 is just an excellent combo. On a high gain amp setting it's hard to beat. Clean, crisp and sustain for days. I'd recommend guage 10 strings of Ernie Balls cobalt and steel range in a drop tuning (D standard for example) and it just sounds so good damn good. My only criticism is the lack of block recess for the Floyd Rose. Although period correct, and I like the look, you are limited on the up pull when using the whammy bar. Once this guitar has seen some gigs and a bit beaten, I may take it to a luthier to route a larger recess for the trem. But for now, absolutely loving it. Well done LTD. You've put Jackson to shame in this price bracket.
