Great cable, comes with Tie and coloured rings

I bought 10 feet version of this 5-pin MIDI Cable. My first impression of the cable is that It will last forever. Cable arrived in a well boxed package of Planet waves. Once I opened the box, I found a little surprise in the form of Planet Waves Cable tie (the elastic ones). It is indeed thoughtful of the PW to supply one along with this cable as it saved me one of my cable ties. Also it comes with multiple coloured connector rings in the box. You can replace the stock blue ring with other provided colours if you have more similar cables and would like to identify this one with ease. Connectors are moulded type and are well finished. Flipside of the moulded connectors is that these are not easy to repair (thought I doubt if you?d need to repair these that easily). It has gold plated pins. I have tested this cable by connecting my Yamaha DTX700 drum module with MOTU Ultralite Mk3 interface. I was apprehensive that the thick moulded connector might obstruct in plugging it to the MIDI IN port since it is right at the edge of the interface. But to my relief it got plugged just fine. I bought this cable to trigger VSTs through MIDI cable connection through MOTU to EZDrummer (vst) to test whether it offers me reduced latency than the DTX700?s USB MIDI interface. Test was successful and this cable did offer reduced latency than USB MIDI. While any other MIDI cable also may have offered similar results, I?d highly recommend this one for its package content, build quality and for peace of mind. An absolute 5 star item.
