Total gain of line inputs to outputs ( gain and volume pots all way up ! ) is only about 3db,but mic input distorts when income signal is higher than 18 mV.
Gain regulation on channel is not real gain-it is more like another volume regulation in serial with existing volume regulation on channel.
So if you have any audio source with level beetween 18 mV and 1,2V there is no way to process it correctly and without distortion through zm4 .
Output meters are also semi-useless. When first red led is lightning there is still no full output level,when the second red light is on the output is near +2db.

Perfect mixer for managing multiple zones

I used one of these for a fixed installation at an embassy's conference rooms. It's a great way to be able to rout various sounds to varius destinations, using online one small, easy to use mixer.

Unfortunately, the four zones each are mono zones, so you can only have a max of two stereo zones, but heey, for speech and some multimedia sound, this is far okay. Great price too!

I bought this to use as a zone sound manager in a live music venue of about 150 people. Two FOH and two fills in another area of the bar. Specifically to control each speaker without having to adjust the entire house system. The four inputs are universal so you can plug the band in from their mixer without touching the house music input or the TV input , sending any input so any speaker. Exactly what I wanted. No hum

Der Swissonic ZM 4 wird von mir für eine fest installierte Tonanlage in einem Restaurant eingesetzt und erfüllt dort seinen Zweck hervorragend.

Ich habe zwei Mikrofone und zwei Zuspieler angeschlossen. Die Ausgänge versorgen vier Endstufenkanäle für insgesamt vier Boxen. Damit lässt sich jede Box einzeln ansteuern. So ist es möglich, z.B. die Musik nur in einem Bereich laufen zu lassen, während das Mikrofon aus allen Boxen kommt.

Die 3 HE des Mixers bieten eine übersichtliche Bedienoberfläche. Die Potis fühlen sich gut an, das ganze Gerät scheint gut verarbeitet zu sein.

Die rückseitigen Anschlüsse bieten für verschiedenste Anwendungszwecke genügend Möglichkeiten zum Anschluss von Zuspielern und Mikrofonen.

Einziges Manko ist die Priority-Schaltung, die nur über einen Jumper im Gerät deaktiviert werden kann. Dazu muss der Deckel abgenommen werden. Der Jumper befindet sich gut zugänglich auf der obersten Platine. Er trägt die Bezeichnung S601. Wird der Jumper von ON auf OFF gesetzt, ist die Priority Schaltung deaktivert.

Die Priority Schaltung schält alle Eingänge stumm, wenn auf Kanal 1 ein Signal anliegt. Das mag für Durchsagen im Supermarkt ganz praktisch sein, im Veranstaltungsbereich ist es aber vollkommen nutzlos, da man die Parameter (z.B. Attack, Release, Range) dieses "Duckers" nicht einstellen kann.

Wäre die Abschaltung der Priority Schaltung möglich, ohne das Gerät zu öffnen, hätte der ZM 4 auch in Puncto Bedienung fünf Sterne von mir bekommen.

Mal angenommen, der Mixer hält jetzt noch zehn Jahre Dauerbetrieb durch, dann ist das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis absolut fantastisch.
