Great feel and sound

Believe it or not its almost 30 years since I bought my last drum sticks. I bought a batch from Paiste back in the late '80's and am actually still using many of them. To be honest I only bought these because I needed to top up my order to get free delivery to the UK and I had met Vic Firth himself at a NAMM show in 1987/8 or thereabouts so I thoughts I'd try a pair of his sticks. But WOW - they are fantastic. First compared to my previous sticks they are noticably much thicker . they are slightly longer and with a larger tip. Second being Hickory they feel solid and dense . This combination means that there is definatley more power and solidity behind each stoke. I actually found them TOO powerful for my electronic drum sets but when playing acoustic drums they are in a different league to those I have been using so I will definatey be getting more when the time comes .. hopefuly in less than 30 years this time. Great sticks , great feel , great tone . great value.

Preislich interessant, aber eben B-Ware

Ich habe mir die Vic Firth Nova Rock Hickory bestellt, um eine preisliche Alternative zu den doch etwas teureren "normalen" Vic Firth zu testen.

Sie liegen genau so gut in der Hand und haben in etwa den gleichen Schwerpunkt wie die A-Serie.

Leider lässt die Qualität bzw. das Material dann doch zu wünschen übrig. Wenn die Vic Firth ca. 4 Wochen gehalten haben, so brechen die Nova in der Regel schon nach 1-2 Wochen.

Für ca. die Hälfte des Preises kommt das dann zwar noch immer auf das gleiche raus, aber etwas mehr hätte ich mir schon erhofft.
